How to keep up with your skincare when the world comes to a halt

With our lock down extended another 30+ days we know some of our clients may be feeling lost on where to begin with self-care!  Not only did you have to cancel your favorite appointments of the month but your stress levels has more than likely increased. Those of you with children are finding your days split between being part-time teacher and part-time entertainer; and by the end of the day you’d probably rather zone out on the couch and watch Tiger King than wash your face.  ‘But who needs to wash their face’ you might say, ‘I didn’t even leave the house!’  Well you do!  Dirt, pollution, sweat and grime accumulate just as they always have.  So instead of that 7th day in a row of FaceTime happy hour, why not trying an at home spa night for yourself!  Self care is important to keeping spirits high and maintaining normalcy. So I’m here to give you my secrets, (well not all of them, we do want you to come back after all!) on how to do a step by step at home Eminence Organic facial that will leave your skin feeling like it’s ready to take on the world, or at least your living room!

Setting the Mood:

Dim your lights, light a candle and ask Alexa to play some Sade, Enya or whatever music puts you into relaxation mode, warm 5 or 6 wet washcloths in hot water from the tap or in the microwave and apply a few drops of essential oils to each one. (optional)

Step 1: The Double Cleanse

A. First Cleanse

Oily Skin - Stone Crop Cleansing Oil

Dry Skin - Wild Flower Cleansing Balm

B. Second Cleanse

Oily skin- Acne Advanced Cleansing Foam, Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser, Eucalyptus Cleanser, Mineral Cleansing Concentrate

Dry skin- Stone Crop Gel, Firm Skin Cleanser, Coconut Cleanser, Mangosteen Daily Resurfacing Cleanser

**Pro tip: I like to do lymphatic drainage massage with my cleansers to encourage blood flow and to help with any puffiness that has accumulated below the surface.

Step 2 : Tone It Up!

Oily- Lime Fresh Tonique, Red Currant Mattifying Mist

Dry- Stone Crop Hydrating Mist, Neroli Hydrating Mist

**Pro tip:  Use your tonique or mist throughout the day for a gentle pick-me-up or to help set your makeup.

Step 3: Essence

Oily- Birch water Purifying Essence

Dry- Birch water Purifying Essence

**Pro tip: Don’t waste product by applying to cotton first, Apply to hands and pat into the skin.

Step 4: Scrub It Out

Oily skin- Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant

Dry skin- Stone Crop Fizzafoliant

**Pro tip: I like to apply my exfoliant and work it to achieve the physical exfoliation, then get in a steamy shower to allow the products activate to their full potential.

Step 5 : Stimulate that Skin

*your skin will more than likely become very red, this is totally ok, redness will dissipate within an hour.

Oily skin- Lime Stimulating Treatment

Dry- Almond Mineral Treatment or Paprika Herbal Treatment

***Pro tip: If you are short on time you can layer step 4 and step 5.

If you decide to steam with step 5 you will intensify the stimulation.

Step 6 : Masque Out

*Eminence has so many masques to choose from so I will suggest my favorites for oily and dry skin types

Oily- Acne Advanced Clarifying Masque, Clear Skin Probiotic Masque, Sour Cherry Masque

Dry-Strawberry Rhubarb Masque, Stone Crop Masque, Snow Mushroom and Reishi Masque

***Pro tip 1: Create your own mixology by combining 2 or more masques to address multiple issues at once.

****Pro tip 2: No time to masque?  Apply your favorite masque before a work out to improve penetration or before bed as a sleep masque.

Step 5: The Finishing Act

A. Eye Cream

Oily- Cucumber Eye Gel, Neroli Eye Serum

Dry- Snow Mushroom Moisture Cloud Eye Cream, Marine Flower Peptide Eye Cream

B. Serum

Oily- Citrus & Kale Potent C+E Serum, Clear Skin Willow Bark Booster Serum

**Pro tip: Always layer your products from thinnest consistency to thickest consistency for maximum absorption.

And there you have it! I hope you all enjoy your evening of much deserved pampering.

Organically yours,

Amber
